I absolutely love this bowl and the fact that it comes without much rust. I prefer the darker, un-rusted look of the steel, so I let it develop just a little bit of rust (being exposed to water for a few hours did the trick), then sealed it with a urethane sealant to prevent further rusting. I'm using it as a simple but very effective garden fountain with the addition of a pump in the center— the cord run through the drainage hole and then siliconed— and submersible lights.
