Seasonal January Recipe: Mumbai Caesar

" ...Being half Indian, I love to incorporate the spice and flavours I grew up with into savoury cocktails. This is a great one for those winter days wishing you were at the cottage or even a midday outdoor brunch! "

ingredients:

(serving 2 - 4 people)

2 ounces vodka or gin
4 dashes Worcestershire
2-4 dashes of your favourite hot sauce
1/2 ounce freshly squeezed lime juice, plus a little for the rim
1 tbs sweet mango pickle
Clamato juice
Garam Masala, for rim
Two cocktail sized samosas, for garnish
1 slice of lime, for garnish

 


 



method:

In a tall glass or cocktail shaker, pour clamato juice, lime juice, and mango pickle. Give it a good stir. Place a small amount of lime juice on one plate and garam masala on another. In a separate glass, dip rim in lime juice, then spice mix. Fill glass with ice. Add vodka or gin, Worcestershire, hot sauce, and fill glass with Clamato juice mixture. Skewer the samosas and place on top. Garnish with lime wedge.
