    Kona 15”

Planter arrived. Planter had patina already applied. It is not apparent if this is metal that will season further overtime to a rust finish or plastic with patina already applied. It seems like plastic but the online said it was a plastic/metal composite. I Will apply the blend of rusting agent that the manufacturer recommended and see if it rusts any further.

Hey Chris, thank you for your detailed review of the Patina Kona planter! The material used is a plastic composite with metal mixed into it to achieve the Corten Steel patina. While it has arrived partially rusted, the color should deepen further by using the rusting agent, or by leaving it outdoor and letting the weather take care of the rest!

    Just right

These pots look great amongst my Corten boxes, and are lightweight and frost-proof. I plan on purchasing more.

Still waiting for it to weather!

I had bought pieces from the Kona collection before but they were metal and rusted into a wonderful patina on their own, within a week. These planters are made of some type of heavy plastic and should weather/rust on their own. Veradek did list a video on how to “rush” the rusting process. I have mixed the ingredients (hydrogen peroxide, vinegar and salt), and while I have applied the solution only 4 times (V recommends 10) I see no rusting or any change at all in patina. Hopefully this will change over time.
